Narrow Path Hosting endeavors to walk the narrow path with S.C.R.U.P.L.E.S for our Saviour, our customers, employees, family, associates and friends.
S.C.R.U.P.L.E.S. stands for Serving Christ Radically in an Uncompromising, People Loving Entrepreneurial Spirit. (try out scruples.net ).
S stands for SERVICE. Jesus said, "…the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:28). The principle role for Christians in the marketplace is the role of a servant. We must follow Christ's example and serve others first before we serve ourselves in the business world.
C stands for CHRIST. Jesus Christ has been declared "Lord of all!" by his resurrection from the dead. (Philippians 2:9). Christ is 'overlord' of all God's creation including the marketplace, Christians in the marketplace serve Christ first before any other interest.
R stands for RADICAL. The word 'radical' derives from the word root. Begin at the root of the matter, that is, a personal and unconditional commitment to follow Jesus Christ in the marketplace. Jesus said, "if anyone would come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." (Mark 8:34).
U stands for UNCOMPROMISING. Christians in the marketplace must never compromise relationship with Christ in pursuit of material gain or other interests in the marketplace. (1 John 2:15-17).
P stands for PEOPLE. Christians in the marketplace must put people before material things in business conduct. People are made in God's image and have intrinsic value beyond the value assigned to them by their ability to produce. Marketplace Christians must exhibit a people first attitude in business decision making (John 13:34-35).
L stands for LOVE. " And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13). The chief characteristic that Christians should be known by in the marketplace is that of love. Love is more than doing good, it is the evident willingness to sacrifice one's interest for the sake of another even to the point of death. (John 15:13).
E stands for ENTREPRENEURIAL. Entrepreneurs take the initiative, seize the day, and risk for the success of their enterprise. Christ never called Christians in the marketplace to a passive witness. His commission to his disciples and to us is GO and MAKE and TEACH. (Matthew 28:20).
S stands for the SPIRIT OF GOD. Christ gave us his Holy Spirit to be with us as our counselor and guide. (John 14:15-17). Whatever Christians do in the name of Christ must be done by the Spirit of Christ.
